     I found these interesting tidbits:

Winston Churchill was sixty-two when he became prime minister of Great Britain and rallied the world to defeat Adolf Hitler and the Nazis.

Mother Teresa received the Nobel Peace Prize at age sixty-nine for her work with the poor in India.

Ray Kroc was fifty-nine when he purchased the McDonald’s restaurant chain from the McDonald’s brothers in 1961.

I find it quite refreshing to see someone focusing on the accomplishments of boomers rather than some "wiz kid."

I created my own "dream profile"--it seems like a very inspiring site.

Hi Bruce,  I agree that age should not determine whether or not you can fulfill your dreams.  But, most of the people on the list are people who were already pursuing their dreams/careers and were able to build upon their experiences to continue to do great things.  The people who interest me are the ones, who have a dream that they haven't achieved and are able to do it later in life.  Maybe more the Grandma Moses story.  Still, it is great to have the inspiration that you can still be active, contributing, and do great things into your 80's.  My dream is to own my own garden supply business; I've put it on hold because of the economy but I've done the research and I think that when things turn around a bit, I'll be able to do it.

I think if people would come together and work as a team the economy would improve much faster and many of us can live out our dreams.  How much money does it take to make someone happy?  Two minds are better than one, and sharing is going to help all of us through these economic times.

Reinvention of people our age is going to be the norm rather than  the exception. In this challanging economypeople will have to be very creative in order to make it. Defeat is not an option!
