Actor Lary Crews began his film career as the personal assistant to director Robert Altman on the little-known movie, HEALTH, and went on to appear as a background actor in 45 feature films shot in Florida and Las Vegas, including Body Heat, Minority Report, Casino and Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous.

In 1998, Crews moved permanently to Los Angeles, pursuing an acting career while teaching beginning extras the ropes with his award-winning blog, BACKGROUND ACTING: THE BLOG. He also writes a popular personal blog, To LIVE and ACT in LA, which features insider "shoot stories" from his film and TV career.

An acknowledged background acting expert, Crews writes for the elite website Film Industry Bloggers, "an insiders look at the motion picture industry through the unique eyes of working professionals."

In 2009, Lary appeared in the TV shows Hawthorne, Raising the Bar, The Office, Cold Case, Heroes and Sons of Anarchy and in the feature films, Growth and Ground Zero. He also stars in the student films, A Taste for Danger, The Visitor and The Grandfather Paradox and is featured in Handy Market, The Delivery, and Coffee and Cream. He will be seen in 2010 in We're Closed, the Silvae music video, Silver Lake, My Friend Peter, Faith and in episode 10 of Men of a Certain Age on TNT.
